Mike Lewis

When Mike Lewis says he is making a “Seahorse”, he of course means a horse with mermaid-like fins splashing through the waves with the moon ahead and a fiery sun not far behind. Watch out for his “Dragonfly”…

Mike combines his creative nature and inventive spirit to fashion unique sculptures, each with a distinctive flair that inspires curiosity and admiration.  As a woodcarver, boat builder and life-long carpenter, Mike has a practiced eye for noticing materials in nature that offer natural and unique forms for his art, such as tree roots, rocks, shells and driftwood.  His work is informed by his studies and appreciation of the primitive folk and art forms of the South, Meso and Northwestern American Indians.
