Gabriel Greenlaw

My goal is to create forms that have a sense of movement, life, and are accessible enough to allow the viewer to create their own associations while still preserving my original inspiration.

My current work involves taking small inspirations, such as neurological elements, and expanding them millions, if not billions of times larger to where they become an immersive experience for the viewer. The use of glass within my work exploits the innate fragility that is associated with the material, creating an environment of tension and intensity that introduces a visceral sense of life into the material, transcending the visual impact of the composition. Combined with complex and organic forms, my work embodies my internal obsession with drama and precision. I frequently find myself consumed by the act of making; impulsively acting, immersing myself in the process and becoming obsessed with details that others might never consider.
