We were married in this church in Jonesport, on the mainland. The wedding reception was then held at the Betts' home on Great Wass Island.
View from the north bank of Middle Point, Mud Hole is a deepwater safe anchorage. Many of the fishing boats from the surrounding area are moored here during hurricanes and storm surges. It is also a favored anchorage of cruising enthusiasts.
The Nature Conservancy's "Cape Point Trail" winds through ledge-studded woodlands before opening up at the coastline to this spectacular view.
On the south shore of Slate Island Point, local children and hikers often decorate the driftwood logs with lobster bait pockets found along the rocks.
